This compliance is approved by the company’s SGS surveyors (SGS is the world’s leading testing and inspection company, which employees over 56 000 employees and has more than 1,000 laboratories and offices in the world), who carefully examine each of the companies producing EPAL pallets. Strict quality controls are followed after license accordance, twice a month SGS inspectors verify each of the producers with the aid of the computerized equipment. This ensures high production quality and guarantees that licensed manufacturers produce EPAL pallets according to UIC 435-2 standard. All original EPAL pallets are marked with the quality control metallic markers with EPAL quality mark. At the moment Lithuania is facing the situation when EPAL sign is used to label pallets that do not meet any safety requirements. Therefore we incite before acquiring the EPAL or EUR pallets to ask the seller of the license, indicating that the pallet is produced in accordance with the requirements and are not falsified. Only in this way, you can protect your employees who are at risk every day dealing with fake pallets, which are usually made out of thinner boards, saving wood and nails, and cannot stand the loaded weight.
The use of falsified pallets is a threat to company’s prestige: in this way the black economy and tax evasion is supported. Transportation of goods on illegal pallets may be stopped at the border; customs can unload the goods and the pallets may be seized; one order loss will be significantly greater than saved money buying falsified pallets.
